Weight Loss - Are You Serious

In today's stressed-out society, it can be difficult to even think about investing the time to eat properly and exercise. You may be struggling with obesity, but also struggling with finding the time to care for yourself properly. As your blood pressure and cholesterol increase, your doctor may recommend weight loss. However, time constraints can lead you to wonder how you'll ever find the time to improve your health.

If you're short on time, but need to lose weight, use these time saving weight loss tips to help you on your way. The pounds will begin to drop off, and your self-esteem will increase.

Drink Water:
Drinking water can be a great way to improve your health. Hydration helps the body to process and shed extra fat and toxins. Flushing the fat out of your body on a regular basis will lead to weight loss. Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day for optimal health. If you struggle with the lack of flavor, try adding a lemon or lime wedge, or one of the new sugar free drink mixes.

Build Exercise Into Your Day:
Take small steps to increase your activity throughout your day. Park your car further from your office. Walk between buildings instead of calling your coworkers. Take a walk on your lunch break. Use the stairs instead of the elevator. Meet your friends for a morning jog. Every little bit helps towards your weight loss goals.

Swap Out High Fat Foods for Lower Fat Options:
This can be a relatively painless way to decrease your calorie count. Swap out your rich ranch dressing for a fat free or low calorie salad dressing. Skip the cheese. Switch to 2% or fat free dairy products.

Avoid Liquid Calories:
Sodas, juices, specialty coffee drinks, and alcoholic beverages can all pack a high calorie punch. Liquid calories don’t fill you up the same way food does, so it can be easy to overdo it if you aren’t careful. Skip the high calorie liquids, and stick with water.

** As a little sidenote on this particular tip, reducing your intake of these liquids, will also help you save money. Now how cool is that.

Try incorporating a few of these tips into your day to see how easy it can be to make healthy choices. Weight loss is a gradual process, and every small step you take towards your goal helps. Even with time constraints, you can make small daily changes to help move you towards your goal weight. You'll be wearing a smaller size before you know it!

This article is for informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, nor should it be interpreted or substituted as medical advice. Prior to making changes to your physical exercise routine and your diet, you should always consult your personal physician. Better safe than sorry.

The Secrets To Losing Weight Quickly

Being overweight is kind of funny in a way. It sort of creeps up on you. Sure, the scale may tell you that you have put on a few pounds over the years, but you don't really notice it...until one day you see a picture of yourself or catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror. "When did this happen", you think to yourself. Surely you can't be that fat, but there's the proof. However you put those pounds on, right now you just want to know the secrets to losing weight quickly.

It may sound obvious, but you need to know what those secrets are before you can start taking advantage if them. See, a lot of people think that weight loss just happens somehow. Maybe if they think positive thoughts or try something the weight will come off. Sorry, that just doesn't work in the real world.

But why try to lose weight quickly in the first place? After all, the so-called experts say you shouldn't lose any more than one or two pounds per week. the truth is that they are right, for the most part. However, that's mainly for long-term weight loss. If you're fairly healthy, and your doctor says it's okay (always check with your doctor before making drastic changes to your eating or exercise habits), then losing more is fine.

One of the biggest reasons for looking for the secrets to losing weight quickly, is that you can see results that much sooner. If you only lose one or two pounds at a time, then it's going to take a while before it's really noticeable. On the other hand, if you lose five to ten pounds in the first two weeks, you will notice, and that can motivate you to stay on whatever program you choose. Then, after the initial burst of losing a lot of weight, you can go back to the more sustainable rate of losing one to two pounds per week.

You may have heard it before: 3,500 calories is the equivalent of one pound of body weight. Every diet that works, works because of this simple principle. They may try to hide what they're doing behind some sort of gimmick (cabbage soup, anyone?), but the only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you take in.

3,500 is a nice round number because it translates into 500 calories per day for one week. If you can cut you caloric intake by just 500 calories, then you will lose one pound in a week. That's not fast weight loss, but it adds up to just over 50 pounds in a year. Now, if you can do enough physical activity to burn off 500 calories per day then that's another pound, and you can shed about 100 pounds in a year.

This is what it comes down to: the secrets to losing weight quickly are to start off strong so you stay motivated, and to combine both diet and exercise to get double the results in the same amount of time.

Long Term Weight Loss-Fad diets Not The Answer

It is actually pretty easy to lose weight, but the hard part is keeping it off. Long term weight loss may seem impossible, but it can be done if you stick to a few basic guidelines. Imagine how great you will feel when you are able to take off weight and keep it off. No more roller coaster dieting. Hooray!

Fad diets can and do work, but they are designed to only work on a short term basis. The reason for this is simple: if they worked on a long term basis, then there wouldn't be anybody left to buy the next fad diet when it came along. That's not to say that there is some vast conspiracy, however, it is clear that it is in their best interests to make fad diets work for only a short time (if at all).

If you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off for good, then here are a few things you can do:

1. Skip the fad diets. Yes, fad diets sound awesome, and some of them do work for a while, but they are not designed to give you lasting weight loss. Instead, follow a weight loss plan that takes a sensible approach and focuses on changing habits as opposed to relying on cheap gimmicks. To put it simply: think habits, not gimmicks.

2. Eat a variety of food. Trying to restrict the foods you eat, especially if they are the foods you love, will only make you want to quit your diet. Sure, your willpower may be able to carry you through a tough spot or two, but chances are that you will eventually give into temptation. However, if you eat a variety of foods, then temptation won't have a chance to get a foothold, and that means you will have any easier time losing weight.

3. Moderation is the key. As you have already seen, you can eat the foods you love and still lose weight; however, you can't gorge yourself on doughnuts and double cheeseburgers without gaining weight. Remember, we are talking about moderation here, and that works both ways. You shouldn't eat heaping piles of junk food, just as you shouldn't avoid whole groups of foods or eat tiny portions that are unsatisfying.

4. Support. Surrounding yourself with people that are genuinely interested in your health will be a great help to permanently keeping off the weight. Be careful here, as some friends and family will be jealous and may try to sabotage your efforts. Do your best to not let them get to you, and associate more with the people who really care.

5. Lose weight at a steady pace. There are plenty of diets that promise the ability to lose 5, 10 or even 20 pounds in as little as one to two weeks. However, it is far better to lose 1 or 2 pounds per week, every week, than it is to lose 20 pounds in two weeks, only to gain it all back later. By pacing yourself you will be more likely to stick with your plan, and that's vital to long term weight loss.

Healthy Weight Loss Diets - Simple Suggestions

Are you looking for healthy weight loss diets that work? If you have been overweight for a long time you have probably tried your share of the many, many diets out there and failed to lose the weight or if you did lose some weight, failed to keep it off.

What some people do not get is the fact that if you are going to lose weight and keep it off it will take dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to change the way you think about food and the way you live your life.

Most people who go on a diet are looking for instant gratification but in reality healthy weight loss diets will show you that if you are going to lose the weight and keep it off the process will be slow and steady not fast and furious.

So what do you think you need to be successful? You need a meal plan that is balanced, tastes good, controls hunger, does away with cravings and increases your energy level. You can accomplish this by sticking to a diet low in fat and eating at least five small meals a day. Eating five small meals a day will help keep your metabolism stoked and help you burn more fat.

Do not try to eliminate all fat from your diet, some fats are OK and your body needs fat in small amounts. Stay away from bad fats like saturated fats and trans fats. Good fats include the polyunsaturated fats found in olive oil and omega 3 you get from eating fish.

Make sure to read the labels on your food and eat only the serving size amount. Portion control is key to losing weight. If you give your body more calories than it needs you will gain weight. If you give your body the exact amount of calories it needs in a day you will maintain the weight your are right now. If you give your body less calories than it needs you will lose weight, it's just that simple.

And if you combine a little exercise with your new meal plan You will be at your ideal weight before you know it. Get a good mix of cardio and strength training to improve heart and lung function and tone muscles to make them work more efficiently and aid in your weight loss effort. Toned muscle helps burn more fat even when you are asleep.

Even if you do all this and start eating healthier you still may not get all the nutrients you need on a daily basis. You may need to find a good supplement to take each day. If you do not know anything about supplements you can talk to you doctor, pharmacist, or local natural food store owner and get their recommendation. When you get all the nutrients you need each day you may find your cravings for certain foods will decrease.

Follow these simple suggestions on healthy weight loss diets and exercise and you will lose the extra weight.

Your Personal Healthy Eating Weight Loss Plan

Ugh! If you have spent any amount of time looking into losing weight, then you are probably sick and tried of seeing so many fad diets. Sure, they all sound great! They promise to shed pounds quickly, and all you have to do is follow their "secret" plan. The real secret is that all of the plans that work only work because you take in fewer calories than you burn. That's the only way to do it. But what fad diets like to do is add some sort of gimmick. This gimmick is meant to distract you from what's really causing you to lose weight. Unfortunately, it's the gimmick that makes a so-called healthy eating weight loss plan so hard to stick to.

Maybe you have tried more than your fair share of these kinds of diets and you feel as though you couldn't try another one if your life depended on it. Listen up! Your life may actually depend on it. But the good news is that you don't have to rely on some sort of wacky fad diet to start eating healthy.

A lot of people that sell their special diets are going to be mad, but here goes...you don't need them! You really don't. However, there are a few good diets out there, you just need to have a good idea of what you're looking for. And what that is, is a healthy eating plan.

So, while you may be thrilled with the idea of being able to eat all of the greasy double cheeseburgers or cabbage soup that you like, the reality of such diets is different. First, healthy eating means balance. Fad diets that focus on one type of food, or eliminate whole groups of foods (low-carb diets, for example) do not provide the balance your body needs. Second, while these diets sound good and may feel great at first, the harsh reality is that the novelty will wear off much more quickly than you expect.

What all of this means is that you will never look at new diets the same way again. Instead of judging them on their crazy claims, you will be able to judge them on how healthy they are. After all, you are unique, and what works for one author may not work for you. That doesn't make that particular diet bad, it just means you may need to alter it slightly to fit in with your health goals. When you stop and think about it, this is a much more realistic approach. It also means that you will be much more likely to stick to the diet because you have made it your own.

Don't misunderstand, though, you can still try new diets. But as you are trying them, remember that you are trying to turn it into your own personal healthy eating weight loss plan. It's pretty easy to do once you get the hang of it. Plus, once you start seeing how much better and long-lasting the results are, you'll be glad you took the time to do it.

Weight Loss Motivation-Comes From Within

How do you find and keep weight loss motivation? Motivation comes from within. No one else can motivate you. Someone else can inspire you or even push you but the motivation for weight loss has to come from inside you otherwise you will not succeed.

Weight loss motivation is a multi-tiered proposition. First, you need to get an exercise routine you can live with and even elaborate on should the need arise. The  stick to it, doing a little each day will give you the confidence and bolster the motivation needed to succeed.

Next, you need to plan out pretty much every single meal you will eat for at least a week, maybe longer. Doing this will make it easier to stick with your diet. If it is spelled out for you and you can make your shopping list every week by the meals you have planned then you will be that much ahead of the game.

Challenge yourself to do this and see how well it works. You may just surprise yourself. Being prepared with the meal planning will also increase your motivation, as well. Pretty so you will be wondering what was holding you back for so long. Even though you will want to do not kick yourself. Everything happens in it's own time. Remember that.

Other things you can do to keep the motivation in top form is to take before and after pictures, or before and along the way pictures. Document any and all progress you make and display it on the fridge or bathroom mirror. Any place you are comfortable with is good.

Keep things positive and talk to yourself everyday. Tell yourself you are well worth the trouble. Remind yourself daily that you are going to look better than you ever have in your life.

Some weight loss gurus say to visualize your success. If you were thin once upon a time then this will be the easiest for you to do. If you have always battled with your weight then maybe you will have trouble doing this. That should not stop you. Look in the mirror and see what you will look like. Block off some of your body with a solid object so you get a better feel for how you can and will look when you are all done.

Find a diet and exercise buddy. One of your friends may be interested in joining you on your daily walks or bike rides. Motivation does come from within but if there is someone who cares enough to be there for you then it helps in so many ways.

Make a contract with yourself, set the ground rules and the consequences if the rules are broken. Do not give yourself an out. Make the contract in front of a witness and sign it then let them keep a copy. If they are willing then let them also be the one to dole out the discipline should you mess up. In essence they will be your personal trainer. Talk about weight loss motivation!

Vegan Weight Loss-Popular Life Style That Aids Weight Loss

Vegan weight loss had become far more popular these days then I ever thought it would. Switching over to a vegan diet is easier than ever due to all the products on the market. Vegan products compare very well to the nutritional values of their meat and fish counterparts that you can lose a significant amount of weight in very short order.

Vegans, on average, weigh less and have a higher metabolism than those of us who eat meat and dairy products. there are studies that show this is true. Veganism is all about not eating meat, fish, eggs, or dairy foods. Veganism is completely plant based nutrition.

There are so many alternatives to milk from cows and they are really good, too. Soy milk, rice milk, almond milk and even milk made from hemp are all good alternatives. They are all fortified with vitamin D and Calcium. You can use them for everything you use regular milk for, too. Baking, cooking, and even your morning bowl of cereal.

Vegan weight loss can even include dessert. You can find dairy-free ice cream on most any freezer section you look in these days. Almost unheard of ten years ago they are prevalent now. If you pick a sorbet, read the label to make sure that it is totally dairy-free and only contains fruit, sugar and ice.

If you are a cheese lover then there are good soy-cheese choices. be aware though, that some soy-cheese brands cheat a little bit and add casein, which comes from dairy. Read your labels, this may be permitted if you are vegetarian but vegans will find it unacceptable. Soy cheese is cholesterol-free and has fewer calories than dairy cheese.

Vegan alternatives for meat are becoming more prevalent, too. Tofu is a good one, if you find that you do not like tofu as it is you could maybe add it to different dishes to see if you can find a way to use it. Tofu is loaded with protein and maybe you just need to find a favorite way of preparing it. Try baking, grilling and frying. Maybe with some good seasoning you will like it.

If not, then try some veggie patties. You can find them at you grocery store, probably even at your favorite restaurant. Vegetarian and vegan alternatives usually have their own section in the grocery store so search for it or just ask where it is. These veggie patties may cost a bit more but they are healthier than regular meat.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are very important for everyone but especially vegans. They can help you get necessary nutrients to ward off deficiencies in your diet that can cause severe problems with your health. When you are out to eat substitute steamed veggies for the potatoes and butter the meal comes with.

You have to be careful to balance your meals and make sure you are getting the correct amount of nutrients in your vegan weight loss diet. This may take a bit of careful planning.

Ultimate Exercises For Your Weight Loss

So you're out to lose weight. You want to lose it fast, so you diet, and you diet some more. Well, diet isn't enough.  The only way to lose the weight fast is to add exercise to your diet regimen. Cardiovascular workouts trim the fat and strengthen the heart. Here are some ultimate exercises that will get you started easily.

Cardiovascular workouts you can try at home without a gym:

• Bicycling:  It's that simple. Just hop on a bike and head out around town. Start with a mostly flat ride to get acclimated to the exercise, and as you get better at it, work your way up to more hilly terrain.  If you don't have a bicycle or don't have a good place to ride, you can simulate a good ride on a stationary bike.  Just don't forget to adjust the tension on the wheel so you actually get a good workout.
• Walking, Power Walking, or Running:  Running?  Me?  Well, maybe not right away. Do these ultimate exercises in order of increasing impact; the purpose is to ease yourself into them. If you have a lot of extra weight, start by walking.  If you are used to never exercising and you just start running one day, you can injure your knees, shins, feet, and even your back. Take it easy, and one day you'll be able to run like all those people you see at the park: yeah, you know the type.
• Playing with your kids or a family pet:  So many people overlook the healthy benefits of good old fashion playtime that it almost never would occur to us to reap those benefits.  Kids love active games.  Tag, hide-and-seek, or any game with a ball can be made into a fun way to get exercise as well as get kids started exercising as well.

Cardio training is an exceptionally effective way to trim the fat from your physique. Just remember to ease yourself into it by starting small and adding higher impact exercises as your body acclimates itself to the increased activity.  Cardio exercises only work if your heart rate is elevated for an extended period of time, so keep an eye on your heart rate.  Don't forget about safety, either.

If you start feeling lightheaded or shaky, stop immediately and take a rest.  See a doctor before you start any exercise program.  Just remember that exercise can and should be fun as well as effective.  Work hard at it, be patient, and don’t give up.  You CAN achieve your goal with these simple ultimate exercises.

This article is for informational purposes only. It is not medical advice and should not be used or intereperted as such. You should always consult a medical professional before making drastic changes to your diet and physical exercise.

Quick Weight Loss Centers And If They Can Help You

You are curious about quick weight loss centers and if they can help you like they say they can. Well, yes they can but do not be fooled, the 'quick' may not be as quick as you think. Healthy weight loss takes time. If you do it too quickly you could get sick and lose muscle tone instead of fat.

There are many weight loss centers that are popular today and despite what you may think some of them actually can be good for you. We all know that having a lot of excess body fat is bad for your health. It can lead to cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes, just to name a few. Losing weight and getting in better physical shape just makes sense.

If you want to jump start things before starting with one of the quick weight loss center and if they can help you, you could consider cleansing, this is when you go on a mostly, or all, liquid diet for up to a week before starting your diet. During the entire time you will flush out all of the toxins that are keeping your body from functioning to it's full potential. There are many cleansing programs around today. Find one you like and get to it.

This is an example of great rapid weight loss diets that will not only jump start your weight loss efforts it will also help you clear out the toxins in your system. Most people who have taken a cleansing program have been able to lose up to ten pounds in a week. Granted it is mostly water weight but the greater benefit is the toxins that are removed from your body.

Now the cleanse is done so you can start up with the weight loss center and keep on losing weight. The centers will not only provide some of the food you will be eating, they will show you how to change the way you think about your relationship with food. I know you have seen the celebrities who have lost weight on TV taking about how they had wonderful mentors and coaches to help them through to their weight loss goals.

If you join one of these weight loss centers, you will have the same opportunities as these celebrities have had. You will get your own mentor or coach to see you through to your weight loss goal.

Most of these weight loss centers today actually deliver your food right to your front door. They have made losing weight so convenient it is almost impossible to not find one that will work for you.

The most important aspect about any of the quick weight loss centers and if they can help you is the fact that they show you how to maintain the weight you have lost after you lose it so you can stay thin and healthy at your goal weight for the rest of your life.

Lose 10 Pounds Fast - Rapid Weight Loss Diets

There are many rapid weight loss diets that can help you lose ten pounds fast and contrary to popular belief, some of them might actually be good for you. We all know that having a lot of excess body fat is bad for your health. It can lead to cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes, just to name a few. Losing weight and getting in better physical shape just makes sense and if you want a little 'leg up' to get you started a really good way to do that is with a total body cleanse.

You've probably heard about cleansing, this is just when you go on a mostly, or all, liquid diet for up to a week. During that time you can flush out all of the nasty toxins that are keeping your body functioning to it's full potential. There are many such diets around today and one of the most popular is called the master cleanse (it's also called the lemonade diet and the maple syrup diet because of it's ingredients).

This is an example of a great way to lose ten pounds fast that will not only jump start your weight loss efforts it will also help you clear out the toxins in your system. You can lose up to ten pounds in just a week, or at least that's what many people have been able to do. There are a few things to keep in mind though. For one thing, most of the weight you lose will be water weight and when you return to normal eating habits you will put some of it back on. You shouldn't put it all back on but a few pounds is common.

Another thing to keep in mind is that after you cleanse you should change your eating habits. What is the point of flushing toxins out of your system if you're just going to go back to drinking and smoking and filling yourself back up with toxins?

You're also going to want to prepare for your diet. Going without solid food for a week isn't as easy as it may sound. It will be challenging and if you don't prepare yourself for it, you are likely to fail. In order to make it a little easier on yourself, take a few days before your cleanse and start cutting back on your caloric intake. Doing this will make it easier for you to ingest fewer calories while you are cleansing.

After your cleanse is done, don't think you can just go back out and eat whatever you did before. There are two reasons for that. For one thing, if you go from an all liquid diet and rush back into a solid food diet you'll make yourself sick. You need to ease back into consuming solid foods after the cleanse.

The second reason is what we discussed above, why go through doing a cleanse just to eat like crap and put all the toxins and fat right back into your body? Using a cleanse is one of the best ways to lose ten pounds fast.

Healthy Eating For Ideal Weight Loss

There are a lot of things people can do to improve their general state of wellness. Perhaps the most important of these is healthy eating. If you have ever paid attention to experts when they talk about getting healthy, you will notice that there are two things that always seem to come up: diet and exercise. There is no question that what you choose to eat plays a major role in healthy you are.

All kinds of analogies are used when talking about the human body, but one of the most fitting for our purposes has to be comparing the body to cars. There are cars that are fairly new, but their owners don't take care of them, so they start running poorly long before they should. Then there are the cars that are decades old and still run like new. This is rarely due to luck. Instead it's all about how the owner takes care of their car.

We can continue this analogy a bit further. The kind of fuel you put into your car makes all the difference. Sure, an economy model may be able to run on any brand of gasoline, but a fine-tuned sports car requires premium. All cars require regular maintenance as well. However, this analogy can only go so far, and there is one huge difference between the two. You can always trade in a car for a newer model, but you only get one body. Yet, too many people take much better care of their cars than themselves. Healthy eating is like putting the right kind of fuel in a car, but a car that you can never trade in.

Now, there are a lot of diets out there that promise to do this or that. Some claim that they can get you to lose weight the easy way, others are meant to prevent cancer, lower your cholesterol, or reduce the risk of various ailments. The truth is that some of them really do work for some people. But there are so many bad diets out there that it can be hard to figure out which ones are worth trying. You can actually try most diets, but there's a catch. You need to know what counts as healthy eating first, then only use those parts of the diet that will be good for you.

Choices are what it's all about. Let's face it, most of us already have a pretty good idea about which foods we should eat and which ones we should avoid. For example, if you have a choice between eating a large chocolate doughnut and a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast; you would most likely agree that the oatmeal was healthier. That doesn't mean you can't ever eat a doughnut, not at all. But if you do, you should think of it as an occasional snack, and not a nutritious breakfast. And that's only one example. Just being aware of the choices you make is an excellent start to eating right.

Green Tea And Weight Loss

If you ever go to the store to shop for weight loss supplements, you will find various green tea extracts right next to the other supplements. Perhaps that comes as somewhat of a surprise to you, or maybe you are aware of some connection between green tea and weight loss. It doesn't really matter either way; what really matters is finding something that is effective at helping you to get rid of some extra pounds. Before you drink green tea or choose a supplement that contains green tea, you should understand why it's so useful in helping people to lose weight.

There is a lot of anecdotal evidence as to green tea's ability to help people lose weight. It's hard to argue with somebody else's results, but there is always a chance that it was other things that caused them to lose weight. The only way to know for sure is to do scientific or medical studies. That way any potential effects of green tea can be isolated.

Researchers have been looking into the connection between green tea and weight loss, and the results are quite exciting so far. It should be mentioned that green tea contains caffeine, so you should avoid it if you have any health conditions that prevent you from drinking. Also, you should always check with your personal doctor before making any major changes to your diet.

The first exciting finding is that green tea may boost your metabolism. There is evidence that the polyphenols in tea will increase the metabolic rate by as much as 4 percentage points for as long as twenty-four hours. That may not sound like a lot, but anything you can use to your advantage to lose weight is a good idea. It also adds up over time.

The next finding in regards to green tea and weight loss is that it can reduce your appetite. Again, it seems as though the polyphenols help to suppress the appetite. If you feel full, then you won't fill up on other food that contains a lot of calories.

Another interesting finding is that the caffeine and theanine in green tea seem to regulate how your body absorbs and stores fat. It also regulates blood sugar levels. So, having a cup of green tea during and after each meal can have a positive impact on your weight.

So far we have seen that green tea can boost metabolism, make you feel full and improve how your body stores fat. Those three things, when combined, make green tea and weight loss a good team. It still gets better, though. A s long as you don't anything to it, a cup of green tea is virtually free of calories. That means you can enjoy all of the benefits while sipping a soothing cup of tea and feel good about doing it.

Induction Diet - The Top Priority For The Atkins Weight Loss Plan

If you have ever heard of the induction diet and wondered what it was, then you're in luck. The answer is simply that it's the beginning of the Atkins Weight Loss Plan. This diet plan is famous for eliminating or reducing the intake of carbohydrates; at least that's the popular myth. The Atkins Diet actually permits carbs, but they are kept to their absolute lowest during the induction phase. This is so the ketosis process can begin.

In fact, the induction diet can be thought of as the most vital phase of the program. If you want to try the Atkins Weight Loss Plan, then don't skip this part as the rest of the diet hinges on this all-important phase.

The general theory of the Atkins Diet is that you can burn fat instead of muscle by replacing carbohydrates with protein. However, you should be warned that it's a very strict regimen, and you need to follow it closely. This is even more true when going through the induction diet phase.

Most people find the induction process to be the most difficult aspect of the Atkins Weight Loss Plan. This is likely due to two reasons. One, you will have strong cravings for foods that are rich in carbohydrates, and the cravings will be at their strongest when you first start the plan. Two, you are limited to 12 grams of carbohydrates per day. That means the variety of foods you can eat is minimal. Even something like nuts--which most people think of as being high in fat and protein--are prohibited during this early stage of the diet.

Sure, there may be some foods that you can't eat, and you may be craving carbs, but there is also some good news: you won't be going hungry. That's because you can eat as much of the allowed foods as you want. For example, eggs, shellfish, meat, poultry and fish are acceptable. And those can augmented with a small amount of vegetables, as long as you don't exceed the 12 gram limit on carbohydrates. (That's why it's a good idea to have a form of reference that lists the carb content of any foods you want to eat.)

Avoiding pre-packaged foods will help you to keep your carb count under control. But you still need to double check before eating anything. Planning your meals carefully will also help give you more variety within the induction diet phase when doing Atkins. Yes, you may be looking forward to eating all of the bacon you want, but it can get boring after a few days, which will only increase the temptation to cheat.

Speaking of cheating on the induction diet (or any phase of the Atkins Weight Loss Plan): this is not the kind of diet you can cheat on and then resume it the next day. Atkins relies on changing the way your body works, and cheating will undo everything you've done so far.

No Fad Diet Weight Loss

So, you want to lose weight. That's wonderful news! Have you heard about the new diet that everybody's doing? If so, forget about it. It won't work...trust me. I got news for all of the charlatans promoting fad diets, they're nonsense is doing more harm than good. Don't worry, this isn't just a rant against the hucksters out there, some real tips that actually work are coming up.

There is no question that the people who following them can some amazing results, often in a short amount of time. People than see how well others are doing on the latest fad diet, and decide to try it for themselves. Pretty soon the person who created the fad diet is filthy rich from selling the modern version of snake oil. Their fortune always seems to reach its peak at about the same time all of the dieters start packing on the pounds again. Okay...so, what does work? Let's find out, shall we?

Fill up. You will never lose weight if you're feeling hungry all the time. If you do, then when you get around the foods that temp you most, you won't be able to control yourself. To combat this, practice what some people refer to as grazing. Instead of eating three big meals, spread out your eating in smaller mini-meals throughout the day. By doing this you won't get too hungry, and as a bonus...your metabolic rate will remain higher.

Get moving. I'll be honest with you, I never liked the word "exercise". The very thought of it just sounds too much like work. So, I fooled myself into doing it by never referring to it as exercise. I call it "activity", "movement" or say, "time to get moving". Regardless of what you call it, you need to incorporate more movement into your daily routine. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to burn more calories than you take in. You can do this by reducing the calories in the foods you eat and by burning them off through some sort of movement. Simple.

Do it together. Finding a friend to lose weight with makes it so much more enjoyable. You'll have somebody to eat at healthier restaurants with, and an exercise buddy. Even more importantly, you will be able to encourage each other when you don't feel like doing what it takes. While the way to lose weight is simple, it's not always easy and having somebody there when you need it most will greatly increase your chances of success. There will also be somebody that you will feel accountable to. Even if it's never spoken, you don't want to feel like you're letting your friend down.

So, there you have it. It really isn't that complicated. Stick with it. Make the changes mentioned above, and add a few more. Don't follow what the newest fad diet says. It won't work. Look for something that's been around for at least a few years. That's the way to do it. Just think about how great you will look and feel as those pounds start melting away.

How Obese Is America-One Third Obese

How obese is America? America is the fattest nation on the planet with over one-third of the US adult population being considered obese. How did this happen? The US is considered one of the wealthiest nations in the world and in a place where 'bigger is better' and 'size matters', what did anyone think was going to happen?

In the land of excess, something has to give and it just so happens that it is America's waistline that has given...out.

All anyone has to do is take a good look around to see just how obese is America. More and more these days Americans are buying bigger clothes to try to hide their indiscretions. Which makes it hard to understand why the clothing manufacturers seem to have had a difficult time keeping up with the increased need for full fitting clothing.

As I am one of the many who is considered obese by her doctor, I still sometimes have a hard time finding things that fit well enough to be flattering and not offensive to the rest of the world. Just because I am overweight does not mean I do not want to look good when I go out or even just on a day to day basis.

I do not plan to stay obese but until I can get my head out of the nether regions of my anatomy and get to losing this weight, I wish to look as good as I can in the clothes I have to wear. Has anyone else out there had this problem?

Did you know that in the past twenty years obesity statistics have gotten larger by 60 percent? Obesity is measured by calculating your BMI, or body mass index. I forget what the formula is but if you do the math and your BMI is 30 or higher you are considered obese. You are just 'overweight' if your BMI is between 25 and 30.

So, what has gone wrong? How did we all get so fat? Answer: choices. Choices in diet and choices in lifestyle. Everything has pretty much done a 180 since I was kid. Fast food joints were a treat back then, now there is a fast food joint on every corner that there isn't a bank. We have almost instant access to our money and our food. What we all hav e to start doing is to make the choice to go to the grocery store and make sure that the household pantry is stocked up with healthy food choices and then make the time to cook at home.

The other choice I listed was lifestyle. When we were kids we were shuffled outside after breakfast and only came back inside for lunch and then dinner. We then went back out after dinner and stayed out until the street lights came on signaling it was time to go get ready for bed. I think that kids today do not even know there is such a thing as street lights.

These are just my opinions on how obese is America got that way.

Running For Weight Loss - Killing The Calories

Running for weight loss is recognized as being one of the very best methods to lose weight fast and get in great shape. The cardiovascular benefits alone of starting a running regime are huge.

The one downside of running for weight loss is that some people take it to the extreme, they run too much and too often and instead of losing weight they also reduce their overall muscle mass which can give them a gaunt, unhealthy appearance.

In order to keep your muscle tone while you burn fat some simple changes to your technique can help.

Stay away from long runs. Any run that is over 45 minutes long can be detrimental to maintaining muscle mass.  The biggest reason is because on those long runs your body needs all the energy it can get and one of the easiest to access is burning muscle.

Think of marathon runners, many of whom supplement their workouts with some form of weight training, no matter what else they do for a workout they all tend to look mal-nourished and underfed. That is because their muscle mass is being diminished faster than it is being replenished.

One great way to combat this is to incorporate interval training into your running regime.  This is simply a way of working out where your workout intensity goes up and down like a roller coaster.

You do very heavy cardio bursts for a short time, taking your body to it's maximum limits, then you alternate that with a lower intensity session.

How many times you alternate between the high and low sessions as well as how long each session will be, needs to be determined by your current fitness level and overall fitness goals.

When you first start out with interval training it is a very good idea to enlist the help of a trainer who can help you develop a good program specifically for you based on your current fitness level and your overall fitness goals.

For most people the best combination will be to do running on one day and weight training on the next. Keep alternating that way to maximize your results.

If you can avoid it, do not combine both exercises in the same day. If you absolutely can not avoid it, at least do one exercise (say weight training) in the morning and allow yourself at least 8 hours before you do the running portion of your workout routine.

Doing it that way will allow your body the maximum amount of time to rejuvenate and replenish itself. You will get the benefits without having too much stress on your body.

Also it's crucial that you provide your body with all the nutrients it needs to support your high energy workouts. Make sure you provide your body with a lot of lean high protein foods. This is essential to help maintain and build muscle mass.

And, of course, make sure to keep hydrated. If you feel thirsty you are already dehydrated. Keep drinking throughout the day and your workouts to avoid feeling thirst in the first place.

All these tips will help you get the maximum benefit out of
running for weight loss.

Weight Loss The Healthy Way Will Keep It Off Longer

Let's face it, there are tons of fad diets clogging up the market, and virtually all of them promise to help you lose a lot of weight in an unbelievably short amount of time. Even if the claims are true (they rarely are), it's more important to go about weight loss the healthy way.

Before you do anything else, you need to talk to your doctor about your desire to lose weight. They will be aware of any underlying health issues you may have, they have access to the latest research on weight loss, and they can also make recommendations based on your particular needs. Also, nothing in this article is intended to be medical advice, so what your doctor says is what counts.

It seems as though a new fad diet is thrust upon us on a daily basis. While there are a few exceptions, the vast majority of fad diets are not healthy. They typically restrict calories down to a dangerous level, severely limit the foods you can eat, or rely on pseudoscience to support their shaky claims. There may be cases where false claims don't really matter all that much, but bad diets can actually lead to major health problems. If you want to lose weight, then weight loss the healthy way is always your best option.

Your body needs a wide range of nutrients to be healthy. The old conventional wisdom was that your body only needed a few major vitamins and minerals to experience optimal health. In fact, there was a time when it was imagined that people would pop a few pills each day and get everything they need. However, science has now seen that we need a wide range of nutrients, micronutrients, phytochemicals and more, and the only way to get them is to eat them in the form of food.

What this means is that weight loss the health way starts with the food you eat. You will go far if you stick to a few basic rules.

1. Eat food as close to its original source as possible.

2. Eat a wide variety of foods.

3. Compare food labels at the grocery store, and choose the healthier options.

Of course food alone isn't enough to get healthy while losing weight; you also have to engage in physical activity. Aerobic exercise will burn the most calories while you are doing it, and resistance exercise will build muscle which burns more calories when you are at rest. Go ahead and work up a sweat, but don't overdo it, otherwise you run the risk of injury.

Weight loss the healthy way includes eating right and getting some exercise. It isn't as difficult as some people believe, but it does take commitment and practice. The only catch is that reading about it isn't enough; you need to follow through and take action if you are serious about losing weight for good.

The Foods That Speed Up Metabolism - Lose Weight Naturally

The diet industry is a multi-million dollar industry and of course those companies that profit from this industry would like to continue making those profits.  So if there was a list of foods that could actually speed up your metabolism and as a result help you to lose weight easily, the diet industry will not want you to find out about it.  What if that list of foods contained the sort of foods that you love to eat - not possible, that would be going against diet rules wouldn't it?  After all, don't all diets tell you to avoid those foods that you love the most?  You should only eat low fat foods and avoid things like nuts and grains.  You should stay away from healthy fruits and vegetables because they contain too much natural sugar - right?

Wrong!

If all these super fad diets were right - eat low-fat foods, eat low-carb foods, eat protein only, eat cabbage until it comes out your ears - if they were all right, then why are obesity numbers rising?

The diet experts out there don't know all the answers or if they do know, they certainly aren't telling you or if they do they will make you pay a hefty price for the information.  People pay hundreds of dollars to find the right way to lose weight and will still usually fail, so instead of spending anymore money on the latest weight loss fad, use common sense.  No matter what type of diet you are on, the bottom line is that you need to burn more calories than you eat.  So common sense will tell you that if you keep your calorie intake within a healthy range and do some exercise you should lose weight.  There are some other things that you can do though to make losing weight easier and maintain a healthy and nutritious diet and this includes eating foods that give your metabolism a boost which helps you burn calories faster.

Some foods high on the list of foods that speed up metabolism are tuna, salmon and sardines.  These foods are great sources of Omega-3 fatty acids and heart healthy fat and they also help to lower your levels of leptin.  When  your leptin hormones stay in a low range it is much easier to lose weight.  So eating more fish will help to lose weight faster.  If you don't like fish then you can always take some fish oil supplements instead.  Olive oil is also another good source of Omega-3 and monounsaturated fats to boost metabolism.

Some other fat burning foods are the hot and spicy types, like cayenne, habanero and jalapeno peppers.  These peppers contain capsaicin which is the substance that makes them hot, it is also the substance that gives your metabolism a big boost for up to three hours after you eat.  To get the most benefit from these fat burning foods you can choose lower-fat, good carb spicy dishes.

Whole grains are also great for speeding up the metabolism because they have a slow digestion rate and they keep your blood sugar levels even.  Cinnamon is another food that has blood sugar regulating properties and can keep your metabolism running at a high speed.  Then there are the protein rich foods like eggs, nuts, lean meats and beans that give your body the much needed protein that it needs to keep it running smoothly.

Water, although a beverage and not a food, will also assist on keeping your metabolism on high speed.  When you are trying to lose weight it is important to keep up the recommended daily intake of water to keep your body operating at peek performance.

Forget about all the new fad diets around, just change your diet slightly to include some of these super metabolism foods, add some exercise to your routine and drink lots of water and I bet you will start to notice a difference in your weight very quickly.

Lose Weight Quickly

Can you really lose weight quickly? That is the question that many of us ask. We live in a time and in a society where we want and expect almost instant results. It is no different when we think about losing weight and getting in better shape.

The problem is that the manufacturers of weight loss and fitness products know that about us too. They gear their advertising campaigns around the idea of telling us what we want to hear.

They make claims and promises about how we can lose weight quickly if we just use their product. But, have you ever noticed what is on the side of the package?

Whether you're talking about a exercise gadget or a supplement there is always a disclaimer that says that the product will deliver the results it promised if you use it with a sensible diet and exercise program.

Now, I'm not saying that is a bad thing but it does kind of make you wonder how much of the result comes from the product itself and how much comes from the "sensible diet and exercise".

I personally think you can lose weight pretty fast and without a ton of hassle if you do it the right way.

So, what is the right way? Well, first of all the right way for you would be to talk to your doctor first. Only he can let you know what is the right way for you.

Your doctor should be able to tell you what types of eating plans and exercise plans that would be best for you based on your health needs and current health.

So, I can't speak for you or tell you what to do but I can tell you what I did and what worked great for me. Hopefully it will inspire you too and it may even work for you.

So, what did I do to lose weight? Well, it was pretty simple; I ate more of the right kinds of food  more often during the day and I exercised.

Not necessarily fun or easy but it worked for me and it works for millions of other people... and it may just work for you too.

The only thing you need to determine is what types and quantities of foods you should eat. Again, this is something you should discuss with your doctor.

Here is the plan I used:

1. I ate 6 small meals a day. Each one of them consisted of a few ounces of lean meat (chicken, fish or shrimp) along with a cup of greens (usually spinach) and a few ounces of carbs (usually rice). The exact foods you choose as well as the exact amount will depend on your body type and your weight loss goals.

2. I drank more water throughout my day.

3. I walked. I either walked around my pool when it was really hot or I would walk around the block if it was a little cooler.

That's it. That's all I did. I stopped eating out, I stopped eating too much of the wrong things and I gave my body what it needed.

My results? Pretty good, I lost 6 pounds in one week, almost a pound a day just by doing what my body needed me to do. As far as I'm concerned, that is the only way to lose weight quickly.

What do you think to fat Metaboliser tablets?

Question Asked by :
Firstly, Thank you for you question :).

Both green tea and cayenne are known to have some metabolism boosting effects, but they are slight and not enough for you to notice a difference really...you're probably wasting your money unless by using the tablets it's also causing you to eat better and exercise more than you would if you weren't taking them, to help make yourself see faster weight loss...

Remember, anything over 3 lbs (loss) per week is considered too fast, and unlikely to stay off long term...
